Hola past and future guests!
Casa Surf got a brand new makeover for Christmas! After living this marvelous lifestyle for 3 years, we were finally able to match the outside of Casa Surf to the vision we have (well…it’s a start anyway!) We’ve taken on a tropical tiki hut vibe, complete with bamboo, caña brava, teak and palm thatching, using 100% materials from Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The best part? We were able to recycle and reuse almost everything else from other parts of the hostel!
After the caña brava was laid, and the roof was water-tight, they constructed the palm thatch over top. The over-hanging palms have a function besides looking cool; they protect the hostel from the dust on the road.
While the workers were out front, Erica was watching the dogs in the house – and decided to do a few renos in there as well, including painting. Kila and Osito helped.
